ABOUT OUR SCHOOL:
Byndoor is a small town in Udupi District and at one end of the Udupi Diocese. The Parish of Byndoor is more extensive than the town proper with a sizable catholic population. The people are God fearing, regular church goers who are scattered in the far-flung 
areas of the parish. The elders of the Holy Cross of Byndoor had long felt the need of religious sisters in the parish to help the parish and the parish priest in the activities of the parish. Many efforts were made in this regard but were not successful.
Receiving a formal invitation from Bishop Basil Dsouza of Mangalore the superior General, with her Council consented to begin a community in Byndoor. On 27th May 1984 the three sisters were posted in Byndoor. The Church donated a piece of Land to the sisters off Our Lady of Fatima as for the record. Mr. Philip Reberio 
a generous parishioner, agreed to meet part of the cost of the construction of the house for sisters on the property.
With sisters presence in Byndoor admissions in Kannada medium school increased. Peoples basic health needs were met and the people were happy with the services of the sisters both in the church and the village. Gradually English Medium School started coming up in Byndoor town admissions to the parish Kannada Medium School decreasing.
To increase the strength of the students in the school, there was a need to start a boarding. Therefore, the permission of the next Bishop Aloysius Dsouza of Mangalore and Sr. Ventura the Superior General the boarding for children was begun within the convent building in 2006. Very poor children from far and near villages who otherwise would not be going to school or admitted in order to educate enlighten and empower them.
In 2008 with the help of the congregation and generous parishioners an extension to the convent was made to house. The increasing number of children in the boarding flourished this is named as Holy Cross Snehalaya Boarding. The sisters of Byndoor are at the service of parish, school and the boarding they regularly visit families even which are far away to comport them and pray with them. The Parishioners of Holy Cross church are very appreciative of the sister’s services and support them in all their endeavors. Seeing the need of the people we started a English Medium Nursery and Primary school. The strength of the school is increasing and we have five class rooms. In order to give good education to all the children we need to construct few more class rooms with necessary facilities.
The school is primarily meant to equip each learner to realize his/her full potentialities by focusing on scholastic achievement, co-scholastic involvement and development of appropriate life skills required to meet any future challenge. Holy Cross School providing following facilities.
